A lot of blogs I follow do a weekly wrap up thing that I really enjoy reading, so I thought I would follow suit! I am so not disciplined enough to this every week, so let’s try for once a month for now.
Mmmm Sundara. One of my fav restaurants ever! If you like Indian food, this is a must-try.
I traveled for my day job twice this month. First stop was Chicago!
This was the view from my hotel window. Pretty sweet!
Sometimes for work I get to attend some really swanky parties. One was at the top of a high rise apartment building, North Water.
Quick pop in to Goddess and The Baker for coffee. I liked the branding here.
My coworkers and I were lucky enough to get in a few hours to play tourist. When we landed on a Monday it was snowing, but by Wednesday it was crazy warm!
We went to a restaurant in River North called Beatrix. It was SO AMAZING I ended up going there twice! My coworker and I posted up at the coffee bar to get some work done for a few hours. This was the shakshouka with spicy tomato sauce, eggs, kale, feta and freeeeesh naan. So dope. This seems relatively easy to make at home, too.
The next week I had a short trip to Denver.
The one afternoon my coworker and I got to explore downtown, it was insanely windy. I made us walk abooout four miles through downtown and LoHi and we almost blew away. Still fun though.
If you’ve lived in or been to Denver you’ve probably heard of Root Down, a super popular farm-to-table-esque restaurant in LoHi. They have a location in the airport too but it is usually packed. We didn’t have time to sit down and eat so we grabbed some hummus to go – and it was amazeballs!!!! I think they make it with edamame. It came with watermelon radish, cucumbers, olives, dates, and some naan bread. I’ve been through this airport zillions of times and I can’t believe I’ve never tried this before! So stoked to find a fast and healthy option at DIA. Way to be Root Down!
As much as I love traveling, I was really excited to be back home in San Diego. It wasn’t a long flight from Denver but I needed to stretch my legs. I walked a good six mile loop around Sunset Cliffs after I landed.
Unfortunately I caught whatever office bug is going around, so I was under the weather the last weekend of April. I did make it out to Art Walk in Little Italy for a quick second and walked by this super cute shop, Stroll Home. It’s at the end of India Street near El Camino.
I want all the things! Putting this on my list when I need to find a gift for friends and fam.
